Not a Sprint
Sometimes I have so much to say, but instead I just sit here and stare at the blinking cursor. I don't know where to start, and that's kind of a weird feeling because I always have something to say. Is it weird if I write it in list form? Ok well, since about 5 people read this blog (that's generous, I know...moving on), I'm going to assume you all agreed to a bulleted post:
- Spring. This weather. I literally could not be happier. Rides outside without a million layers. I may even have to start breaking out the sunscreen. (I'm not going to rant on this right now, but sunscreen, people, wear it. When I swim, bike, or run outside, I wear 45+. No skin cancer for me, please). And running in shorts and a tank top will be happening today. I'm a summertime girl through and through. All smiles.
- My bracelet. Oh my goodness! My amazing friend Erin Leigh, also of this post fame (as if there is any fame to be had by being in a blog post of ming), sent me a bracelet yesterday. To say I love it would be the understatement of the century.
The bracelet Erin Leigh sent me. Oh, "hi Dooley." - That ride with my friend I was worried about yesterday? It was awesome! I had so much fun! I just kept telling myself "riding with fast people makes you faster." It's true. I hope. But even if not, it was still a lot of fun!
- I was supposed to travel for work from Thursday to Sunday, but I just found out last night I don't have to. I'm more than relieved because now it won't mess with my training schedule and I get to run a race on Saturday that I had signed up for and have been pretty freaking excited about. More on that later.
- You know how a few bullet points ago I mentioned a great swim? Well, yesterday was the first day this season that I've seen and felt noticeable improvement in the pool. I've seen changes, not HUGE, but enough to know I'm doing something right, or more accurately enough to know that my coach knows what he's doing and I should just continue to do what he tells me, but the pool kind of always stayed the same. Until last night. I noticed some big gains, and that made my night. New puppy swimsuits for everyone. Just kidding. I can't afford that but if I could...you would all be receiving your very own version of what has now become my lucky swimsuit. I told you I was superstitious.
